What You’ll Do
As a Power Systems Engineer, you’ll serve as a primary technical resource within your assigned region, supporting projects from initial analysis through implementation:
- Perform power system studies including short circuit, protective coordination, load flow, motor starting, and arc flash hazard analysis
- Conduct power quality testing, troubleshooting, and field investigations
- Design and improve low‐ and medium‐voltage electrical distribution systems
- Work with switchgear, transformers, MCCs, protective devices, and grounding systems
- Apply and interpret IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NFPA 70E, and other applicable standards
- Collect data from portable and installed power monitoring equipment
- Collaborate with clients to develop practical, safe, and code‐compliant solutions
- Participate in project development, technical proposals, and client presentations
- Lead or support on‐site activities with a strong emphasis on safety
- Grow toward project leadership and Engineer‐in‐Responsible‐Charge roles as experience increases
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university
- 3–7 years of experience in power system studies
- Solid understanding of electrical distribution systems across multiple facility types
- Strong communication skills—able to explain technical concepts clearly to clients and teammates
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small, technically focused team
- Willingness to travel within an assigned state (GA, NC, SC, or NY)
Preferred (but not required):
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment
- Hands‐on experience with SKM, EasyPower, ETAP - EDSA experience a plus
- AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency
- Experience supporting industrial, healthcare, data center, or institutional facilities
