What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Support Operator I position at SDM Composites?
A Production Support Operator will perform a variety of production support functions including cleaning parts, part marking, packaging, deburring and/or grinding parts, operating a tumbler and a sand blaster. The stock material may consist of aluminum, stainless steel, polyimide or phenolic, fiber glass, composite material, titanium, brass, and copper.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
· In accordance with instructions on Manufacturing Plan, will clean parts, perform part marking and packaging, deburr and/or grind parts using file, grinding wheel, tumbler and deburring cloth.
· Must be able to get along well with others.
· Must be able to work scheduled shift and meet company attendance requirements; must be flexible enough to stay late or modify work hours on short notice, if production deadlines require it.
· Must be able to perform the job safely; must comply with company safety rules and procedures.
· Have good basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals).

· Have good basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals).
- Have good verbal and written English communication skills; ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to use micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to input data into a computer terminal.
- Have neat penmanship for completing Manufacturing Plans, etc.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; prefer one to three months experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to be detail oriented and able to multi-task several functions.
- Ability to organize work to optimize efficiency.
