Commercial Lines Insurance Account Executive needed for an Insurance Agency in Schaumburg, IL! Hybrid Remote!
- HOURS: Full-Time Hours, Monday to Friday
- DURATION: Direct Hire
- WORKSITE: This position may require 1 day in office per week (Tuesdays).
- Should there be an important team or client meeting, you must be open to coming in office or travelling to client's office. Travel costs covered by the agency!
- TRAVEL involved – 25% of the time. Trips are usually same day return, but at times may require one overnight. Locations can include TN, KY, IN, OH, MI, WI, NJ, NY, GA, NC, NC, SC, TX
- PAY: $110,000 - $139,000/year depending on experience. Plus commission potential.

Job Duties can include, but are not limited to:
- The Account Executive interfaces with an assigned list of accounts and assists Business Development team in acquiring new accounts involving the Company’s portfolio of products (i.e., property, casualty, automotive, or other types of insurance). This individual is in charge of existing large and complex insurance accounts and is required to retain the clients’ business; give audience to existing clients; advise them on the status and requirements of their insurance accounts; and get to know their needs and provide solutions that are appropriate. The Account Executive mentors and guides junior staff in the department.Relationship management of client.
- Proactive development and execution of client risk management strategy.
- Knowledge of full portfolio of P&C products and services including but not limited to large deductible, global plan, loss control, claims, etc.
- Proficient understanding of compliance & marketing (RFP), reporting & analytics, and able to perform these functions with little guidance from the department head.
- Independently, or in partnership with the department head or Client Executives, leads client meetings and presentations.
- Coordinates with Customer Service team and/or Account Representatives, the ordering and issuing of binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other items. Verifies accuracy of those items.
- Prepares summaries, schedules and proposals, process renewals in coordination with Customer Service team and Account Representatives.
- Reviews and verifies policies, audits, calculates premiums, and establishes payment methods.
- Strong knowledge of and relationships with vendors.
- Maintains confidentiality of company and customer information, including pricing, growth projections, market share and other materials that can be used by the competition.
- Monitors and recommends opportunities for client revenue enhancement.
- Identifies, plans, and develops methods and procedures to obtain greater efficiency and effectiveness of client programs and policies.
- Develops sales or cross-selling opportunities with current clients.
- Assists in new business opportunities and develops retention strategies for existing clients by working collaboratively with client executive teams.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior level staff to grow within the team.
- Ability to identify strengths and/or challenges within the department and promote strengths or find solutions for challenges.
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by senior management.
- To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:Minimum of 5 years working as an Account Executive on Commercial Insurance within an independent agency.
- A very high level of customer service is required.
- I.E. This agency does actual presentations for pre-renewal and renewals to clients. They don't just email information.
- Experience with generalized risks and lines of coverage including General Liability, Workers' Comp, CL Auto, Professional Liability, etc.
- Must have experience with large National Carriers; Chubb, Travelers, Sompo, etc.
- Proficiency with AMS 360 & Image Right preferred.
- Intermediate - Advanced MS Office Suite required.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Current IL P&C License.
