The SD School for the Blind and Visually Impaired has an immediate opening for a part-time Music Teacher. Bachelor’s degree in Music preferred. Primary Responsibilities:· Teach music theory/history/appreciation and acoustics· Coordinate Music for Seasonal Programs, assemblies, and graduation· Plan and prepare lessons in relation to individual students’ needs· Vocal and instrumental lessons to pre-school to age 21 students Ability to:· Provide adequate and constructive student supervision· Communicate both orally and in writing· Maintain flexibility, initiative, professionalism, and enthusiasm Incumbent will be required to undergo a background investigation before employment begins. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.Incumbent will be required to provide documentation of MMR vaccination.
