What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Security & Bar Back position at SCW Liquors?
Security Duties
- Greet guests, check IDs, and ensure all patrons meet age requirements.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and crowd flow to maintain safety and capacity limits.
- Patrol inside and outside areas of the bar to prevent disturbances.
- De-escalate conflicts and safely remove disruptive or intoxicated patrons when necessary.
- Protect staff and guests by responding quickly to emergencies.
- Complete incident reports and communicate issues to management.
Bar Back Duties
- Restock liquor, beer, wine,ice, and bar supplies.
- Assist bartenders during busy shifts by organizing supplies.
- Change kegs and replenish bottled or canned beverages.
- Clear empty glasses, trash, and bottles to maintain a clean bar area.
- Ensure the bar area is organized, safe, and fully stocked for service.
Qualifications:
- Prior security, bar back, or restaurant experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Strong communication, observation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Physically able to stand for long shifts, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle physical interventions if necessary.
- Professional, respectful, and calm under pressure.
- Night, weekend, and holiday availability required.
Work Environment:
- Loud, high-energy setting with frequent interaction with guests.
- Extended periods of standing and walking.
- Split duties between crowd monitoring and bar support.
Hours are 8:00pm-2:00am Saturdays
