What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Facilitator position at SCV Counseling Center?
We need a Youth Facilitator to help run activities and supervise teenagers at our youth center. The mission of the youth center is to provide teenagers with a fun and safe space where they can learn and grow with the help of our staff.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Experience working with Kids
- Experience Providing Mentorship to Youth
- Experience working at a youth center, after-school program, day-camp, summer-camp, or youth focused mental health facility.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Work effectively with a team
- Experience with tutoring
Preferred, but not required:
- PEERS© Certified
- Experience in ABA (applied behavioral analysis)
Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Youth Facilitator will:
- Report to work in person at our facility
- Supervise teens who are enrolled in the program
- Assist teens with their homework
- Keep clients entertained and engaged
- Play games with the youth
- Facilitate assigned activities as designated by the Program Manager
- Ensure youth attend designated group activities
- Help with clean up and set up
- Provide youth with encouragement
- Dress appropriately for an environment where you are working with children
- Attend any mandatory staff meetings or training sessions
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
