The Senior Manager, Software Development works closely with product and project managers, engineers, and leadership to define priorities, allocate resources, and ensure projects remain on track. This position oversees Azure application dashboards, telemetry reporting, GitHub configuration, and Terraform provisioning while exploring technical possibilities to enhance development efficiency. Additionally, the Senior Manager, Software Development is responsible for maintaining security best practices, performing monthly security reviews, handling escalations, and addressing open issues through Jira tickets.
Beyond the technical scope, this role champions people management and team development by conducting 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and skip-level evaluations to ensure continuous growth and alignment with business objectives. The Senior Manager, Software Development collaborates with the Help Desk Manager to streamline support processes and ensure SLAs are met effectively. This position plays an integral role in license and budget management, ensuring resources are efficiently allocated for optimal operations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Leadership and People Management
- Provide strong technical and managerial leadership to the software development team
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources, tools, and support to perform efficiently
- Conduct 1:1 meetings to focus on individual development and career growth
- Host regular team meetings covering project updates, company news, and analytics
- Conduct annual performance reviews and work with leadership on career development plans
- Collaborate with product and project managers to define requirements, risks, and prioritize development efforts
- Act as an escalation point to address project concerns and blockers
- Assign and allocate resources to ensure smooth project execution
- Track progress on development initiatives, including capital project work
- Ensure alignment on technical requirements with senior leadership
- Oversee the implementation of Terraform for Azure provisioning
- Develop metrics that drive desired outcomes, such as the effective use of AI
- Review Azure application dashboards, telemetry reports, and uptime metrics
- Conduct monthly security dashboard reviews to maintain system integrity
- Manage GitHub configuration and oversee repository security settings
- Monitor and resolve security related open issues in Jira tickets
- Work closely with the Help Desk Manager to streamline support workflows and ticket triage
- Ensure SLAs are consistently met and support resolutions are timely
- Lead change management efforts, including approval processes and internal messaging
- Communicate technical updates, project milestones, and companywide changes effectively
- Serve as a key liaison between engineering, product, support, and leadership teams
- Advocate for continuous improvement, innovation, and technical alignment with company goals
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or
- Equivalent work experience and
- 8 years of relevant technical experience, including full stack software development, database development, cloud technologies, enterprise architecture best practices, and governance and
- 5 years of experience leading a development team of at least 5 developers across various disciplines
- Strong organization, prioritization, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Strong vendor management and partner relation skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
- Ability to make good decisions in a timely manner when solutions are not clear, and information is somewhat ambiguous
- Initiative, good judgment, and ability to work independently under pressure in a changing environment
- Enterprise architecture certification
