Job Description :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Google Cloud Network Architect to design, secure, and optimize large-scale network architectures across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and hybrid enterprise environments. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in Google networking services, advanced routing, SDN and automation, and high-availability distributed systems.

An active federal security clearance and Google networking certification are mandatory for this role.

This position supports teams based in Virginia Beach, VA, with flexibility for remote work within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

Google Cloud Network Architecture

•Architect and implement advanced GCP networking solutions, including VPC, Shared VPC, Cloud Router, Cloud Interconnect, Load Balancing (L7/L4), Cloud NAT, and Private Service Connect.

•Design highly available, scalable, and secure multi-region cloud network architectures for mission-critical workloads.

•Lead hybrid networking solutions integrating cloud and on-prem infrastructures using VPN, Interconnect, BGP, and custom routing policies.

Enterprise, Backbone & Edge Networking

•Build and optimize enterprise and backbone networks using BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN, VXLAN, and advanced traffic engineering strategies.

•Lead network segmentation, routing optimization, and policy control for large distributed environments.

Security, Compliance & Clearance-Aligned Design

•Apply Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and NIST security frameworks across cloud and hybrid networks.

•Design architectures compliant with federal and DoD security requirements in alignment with clearance-level standards.

•Integrate Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), firewall rules, and secure service access across GCP environments.

Automation, SDN & Infrastructure as Code

•Build and maintain automation frameworks using Python, Go, Terraform, Ansible, Netconf, gNMI/OpenConfig.

•Develop automated provisioning, monitoring, configuration, and self-healing workflows.

•Implement SDN and network virtualization strategies across cloud and hybrid infrastructure.

Performance, Reliability & Operations

•Lead root-cause analysis, troubleshooting of complex network failures, and performance tuning.

•Drive capacity planning, network observability, and disaster recovery architecture.

•Document architectures, designs, standards, and best practices for engineering teams.

Leadership & Collaboration

•Serve as the technical authority for cloud networking across engineering, security, infrastructure, and SRE teams.

•Mentor mid-level engineers and guide architecture decision-making processes.

•Present network strategies and solutions to senior leadership and technical stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:

Strong experience in cloud/network architecture with a strong focus on Google Cloud.

•Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret, Top Secret, or TS-SCI).

 Mandatory Google Certification:

•Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Network Engineer

 Deep, hands-on expertise in:

•GCP networking (VPC, Cloud Router, Interconnect, Load Balancing, PSC, firewall policies)

•Routing: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS

•MPLS, Segment Routing, EVPN/VXLAN

•SDN, network virtualization, hybrid connectivity

•Network automation (Python/Go, Terraform, Ansible)

Must-Have- Skills
