TITLE: Teachers (preferred individual with ELL licensure)
CLASSIFICATION: Certified Position
LOCATION: Scribner Middle School
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
Dates: July 20th to July 24th, 2026 - 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
NOTE: All positions are tentative and are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment, student attendance and state funds.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education and/or Experience: Valid Indiana teaching license for the teaching assignment.
- Other Skills and Abilities: Must have a working knowledge of computers and their capabilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Provide middle school students and new students to the district assistance in learning a new environment and school personnel
- Maintains and continues education of essential English needed for asking for help in content areas
- Continues education on academic vocabulary needed for success in content area classes
- Utilizes curriculum, methods, materials and equipment appropriate for student instruction.
- Plans and implements lessons plans based on school objectives and the needs/abilities of students.
- Ensures that instructional environment is inviting, clean, safe and conducive to learning.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with students, peers and parents.
- Works with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning of materials and/or skills.
- Utilizes varied instructional strategies and activities.
- Establishes, communicates and encourages high standards of student performance.
- Monitors, assesses, and provides appropriate feedback of student performance and progress.
- Keeps attendance reports.
- Implements school policy and pertinent law.
- Maintains discipline in the classroom, school building and school grounds.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Principal and/or other designee.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the Corporation.
