Key ResponsibilitiesLead Supply Chain Operations
- Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, including purchase order management, supplier coordination, and receipt of goods across multiple locations.
- Ensure timely and accurate procurement activities that support operational efficiency and production requirements.
Collaborate Across Departments
- Partner with production, sales, engineering, and operations teams to support material planning and inventory management.
- Facilitate clear communication to ensure alignment with customer demand, project timelines, and business objectives.
Develop Purchasing Strategies
- Establish and maintain purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement in procurement, contract management, supplier performance, and cost-control initiatives.
Negotiate and Manage Supplier Relationships
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to secure the best value for the organization.
- Evaluate, qualify, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain supplier scorecards to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Build strategic partnerships with suppliers of aluminum extrusions, metals, glass, hardware, packaging, and other critical materials.
Support Production and Inventory Goals
- Execute material planning activities aligned with the master production schedule.
- Optimize inventory investment through effective forecasting, monitoring, cycle counts, and inventory audits.
- Ensure inventory accuracy while maintaining appropriate stock levels to support production demands.
Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with engineering teams to source materials and equipment for new product development, process improvements, and capital projects.
- Identify alternative sourcing opportunities and innovative solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
QualificationsExperience
- Minimum 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the fenestration, metals, window and door, construction materials, architectural products, or building products industry is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations, inventory management, and procurement strategy development.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and MRP planning tools.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and supply chain best practices.
Education & Certifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- Professional designations such as SCMP, C.P.P., or CPIM are considered strong assets.
