Position Overview
A multi-site manufacturing organization is seeking Purchasing Coordinator to support and enhance procurement operations across multiple facilities in the US. This role is responsible for ensuring material availability aligned with production requirements while driving supplier performance, cost control, and inventory efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing procurement experience, a data-driven mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, sales, engineering, and finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities from purchase order creation through receipt
- Support the development and execution of procurement policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, contracts, and commercial terms
- Evaluate, onboard, and manage domestic and international suppliers
- Track and improve supplier performance using scorecards and metrics
- Execute materials plans aligned with production schedules and customer demand
- Monitor inventory levels and provide reporting to support cash flow optimization
- Coordinate inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and physical inventories
- Collaborate with production, sales, and engineering teams to support demand and project needs
- Identify alternative sourcing options and solutions to support internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing procurement or purchasing
- Experience supporting or leading procurement teams is an asset
- Hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems (Dynamics / Business Central preferred)
- Strong Excel skills and understanding of Bills of Materials (BOM)
- Background in building materials or metals manufacturing is an asset
- Professional certifications (SCMP, C.P.P., CPIM) are considered an asset
- Bilingual capabilities are an asset
