Restaurant Accounting Administrator
Full to Part Time (30-40 hrs/wk)
Screen Door Restaurant group has been established as a woman-owned neighborhood institution since 2006 and continues to grow. Now with two Portland locations and one in the airport, we are looking for an office administrator with strong bookkeeping and restaurant costing experience to join our team and help us continue to grow.
Big picture experience - as the full charge bookkeeper, you will work closely with the Financial Controller, Payroll & Benefits Administrator, Executive Chef as well as the middle management teams to improve and streamline restaurant operations. You will gain an in-depth understanding of every aspect of running a successful restaurant group and how to use financial analysis to generate profit. Reports to Financial Controller.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
Bookkeeping and/or accounting experience in the hospitality industry.
3 years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience
Full charge bookkeeper experience preferred
Must have experience with Quickbooks Online, Excel, Word & Google Workspace
Toast POS & MarginEdge Restaurant Inventory experience a HUGE plus!
Understanding of Restaurant operations and food costing a HUGE plus!
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Efficient in accrual based and 13 period accounting preferred
Solid understanding of GAAP
Bookkeeping duties:
Accounts Payable/Receivable
Invoice approval
Reviewing purchase for accuracy of coding
Monthly reconciliation of all bank, credit card and intercompany accounts
Payroll journal entries
Other duties:
Maintain MarginEdge restaurant inventory software
Assist the Executive Chef in costing new menu items
Assist restaurant managers with ensuring their inventory sheets are up to date and accurate
Assist GM s with POS & platform menu updates
General office filing and other administrative duties
