Mobile Alloy Wheel Repair Technician Trainee – Paid Training
Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Paid Training | Company Vehicle Provided
Scratch & Dent Auto is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented person to train as a Mobile Alloy Wheel Repair Technician. This is a hands-on position traveling to local automotive dealerships and customer locations to perform professional cosmetic alloy wheel repairs.
No previous wheel repair experience is required. We provide paid, hands-on training to the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically inclined, enjoys working independently, takes pride in producing quality work, and wants to learn a specialized automotive trade.
What You’ll Do
- Drive a company-provided vehicle to local dealerships and customer locations.
- Communicate professionally with dealership managers, service advisors, employees, and retail customers.
- Identify vehicles needing our services and communicate available repair options to dealership personnel.
- Safely jack vehicles at proper manufacturer-approved lifting points.
- Remove and properly reinstall wheels.
- Sand, prepare, mask, and refinish cosmetic wheel damage.
- Match colors and mix small quantities of automotive paint.
- Apply primer, color, specialty finishes, and clearcoat using professional spray equipment.
- Inspect your own repairs, identify imperfections, and make corrections when needed.
- Follow established repair procedures carefully and consistently.
- Complete invoices, purchase orders, and other dealership paperwork.
- Collect and document customer payments when required.
- Keep the company vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and maintained.

- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Able to repeatedly lift and handle mounted wheels and tires.
- Able to kneel, squat, bend, and sit on the ground while performing repairs.
- Comfortable working outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions.
Experience in automotive repair, dealerships, tire service, detailing, painting, refinishing, mechanical work, route service, construction, maintenance, or another hands-on trade is helpful but not required.

Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Typical starting time is approximately 8:00 AM, with daily finishing times depending on workload and dealership schedules.
Pay
Starting pay: $20–$25 per hour, depending on relevant experience and demonstrated ability.
Pay increases and performance-based compensation are available as skills, quality, independence, and productivity develop.
