What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commerial Truck Driver position at Scrapmine of Wichita Falls?
Overview
We are looking to hire a new truck driver. In this role, you will operate a 2026 Western Star 49x and occasionally a roll off truck. The main part of this job will be hauling end dump loads from our scrap yard to the mill. You will be home most nights, and if you do have to stay out of town we will get you a hotel and pay for meals. We can train you if you are unfamiliar with our trucks and trailers as long as you have commercial driving experience.
Duties
- Complete pre and post trip inspection of truck and trailer if issues are found report to proper management.
- Get loaded and deliver load to the mill and return back home.
- Occasionally will need you to haul our excavators to jobsites on our low boy trailer.
- Comply with all safety protocols during load & unload procedures.
Skills
- Experience in commercial truck driving.
- Proficiency in operating trucks with manual transmissions and familiarity with various trailer types including flatbeds, end dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks required for loading/unloading freight.
- Good communication skills for coordinating deliveries and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures.
