What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Scrap It?
We are a high volume, family-owned scrap metal recycling company looking to add to our team of Equipment Operators
Equipment Operators are a vital part of our facility operations. Moving various types of scrap around the yard, loading/unloading customer vehicles, and keeping the operation running smoothly.
We offer on-the-job training with tremendous growth potential
- Candidates with a hydraulic license are preferred, but can operate under our In-Service Training Program
- Experience with scrap metal or related industries strongly preferred but not required
- Ideal applicants should have a strong background in Heavy Equipment operations.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors year-round 6am-4pm
- Position requires strong communication and problem solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Daily Job duties include, loading and unloading open top containers, sorting & separating various scrap metals, feeding stationary scrap processing equipment & inspecting and maintaining equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Candidates who have specific experience with Material Handlers, Excavators, Stick Shears & Loaders are preferred.
Starting pay is based on experience & industry knowledge.
