What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Peer Specialist position at Scranton Counseling Center?
Scranton Counseling Center, the area's largest integrated behavioral health provider, has openings for Certified Peer Specialists.
As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will use your lived experience with mental illness, recovery, and your training to support adult consumers on their unique and individual journeys to recovery. You will work alongside consumers, providing guidance, advocacy, and support that fosters empowerment and self-determination.
Qualifications
- Lived Experience: Self-identified individuals with a mental health diagnosis who have reached a point in their recovery where they can positively support others.
- Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Training: Completion of a two-week Certified Peer Specialist training course offered by an OMHSAS-approved vendor.
- State Certification: Must hold a current Pennsylvania state certification as a Certified Peer Specialist.
