What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at Scout?
The primary function of the Inventory Specialist is to effectively organize, resolve and update various inventory counts, utilizing numerous tracking systems for shipping, receiving, servicing, drilling hours and completion dates for drilling tools in all divisions within Turbo Drill Industries, Inc. As well, the Inventory Specialist effectively communicates key issues and potential solutions to management in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize various computer software programs (currently In-Site and Job-Boss) by entering data to initiate and complete services in relation to shipping, receiving, reworks, inspection, reports and hours of operation for all major components
- Building toll inventories into the In-Site and Job-Boss Systems by entering all components for logs at the completion at the completion of service for each tool
- Track the inventory of each tool and it’s components by inputting and updating component tracking sheets into service reports based on tool size
- Perform physical on hand inventory and computer based inventory logs with accuracy
- Order new parts to meet the needs of manufacturing supply and demand
- Performs various training programs for employees in inventory management systems
- Verifying component lists for new tools in preparation for accurate ordering and completion of each tool assembly
- Entering and scrapping of tracked components in In-Site and Job-Boss
- Inputting receipt and new inventory in computer systems
- Improve all aspects of the overall distribution process.
- Perform other duties relevant to TDI products and services or as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 2 year degree in inventory management or business management
-OR-
- 2-4 years of experience in all aspects of inventory cycle management in the manufacturing or warehouse industry
- 2-4 years of experience using computer software for tracking and reporting incoming and outgoing product shipments for distribution, storage and order filling.
- 2-4 years of experience monitoring stock usage in cyclical inventory count
- Knowledge of tool component tracking system
- Filing skills to include physical and digital records management
- Excellent analytical, prioritization, delegation, and multitasking skills
