The Talent Acquisition & Retention Manager provides both day-to-day support and strategic leadership across the organization’s recruitment, onboarding, retention, and employee engagement functions. This role is accountable for managing and continuously improving the full talent lifecycle—from hiring and onboarding through engagement and long-term retention.
Primary Responsibilities
Recruitment & Hiring Leadership
- Lead and oversee internal and external recruiting teams responsible for full-cycle recruitment
- Partner with hiring managers to define hiring strategies, priorities, and workforce plans aligned with business needs
- Ensure consistent, compliant, and effective hiring practices across the organization
- Track, analyze, and report on recruitment and retention metrics to drive data-informed decisions
- Manage and evaluate third-party recruiting partners to ensure performance and ROI
- Oversee and enhance onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition and strong early-tenure success
- Own and optimize recruitment and onboarding systems (HRIS/ATS), ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and user experience
Retention & Engagement
- Lead and continuously improve retention strategies, including structured 30/60/90-day employee touchpoints
- Monitor effectiveness of retention initiatives and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Align retention efforts with broader engagement, performance, and development initiatives
- Manage and optimize the employee engagement platform and feedback processes
- Partner with leadership to translate insights into actionable initiatives that strengthen culture and retention
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years of progressive experience in talent acquisition, HR leadership, or workforce management
- Proven experience leading recruiting and onboarding teams in fast-paced or growth-oriented environments
- Demonstrated success improving retention, engagement, and early-tenure outcomes
- Experience owning and optimizing HRIS, ATS, and engagement platforms, including vendor management
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at senior levels
- Ability to lead through change and align talent strategies with evolving business needs
- Prior experience implementing ATS and onboarding platforms required
Preferred Experience
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, construction, or industrial service environments
- Experience scaling recruiting, onboarding, and engagement functions across multiple locations or business units
