We're looking for a Senior Account Strategist who will be a key member in owning PR for key clients across our tech clients. The way Scout Lab approaches communications is part traditional media, part new media, part creative campaign development. We believe in both pitching the news, but also finding ways to make the news.
This role will be swiss army knife to PR projects and is best suited for someone with high organizational rigour, and thinks outside the box to achieve client goals. The Senior Account Strategist role will be responsible for both project management and account management duties across three key clients. This role will work collaboratively with our Strategy, Copy, and Design Teams, as well as with the client to ensure the highest level of work is delivered on time. This role will report to Scout Lab’s Associate Director and perform the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Own daily account management for PR clients
- Have a high attention to detail
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
- Build and improve brand awareness through integrated communications, and has the ability to think untraditionally about ways of going about achieving this task
- Communicate day-to-day with the client contacts as needed
- Daily monitoring around breaking news/issues, including the ability to spot errors in media coverage of the brand/client
- Build relationships with media and press contacts
- Collaborate with internal strategists, designers, and founders to achieve account goals
- Be responsible for communicating status and risk mitigation
- Develop strong and enduring business relationships with senior and mid-level executives
- Work closely with the project owners to identify and assure delivery against key business objectives, priorities, expectation setting, timelines etc.
- Clearly communicate progress of weekly and monthly goals, internally and externally
Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in account and/or project management
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Experience building press lists and doing press research
- Experience with press pitching and working with media contacts
- Experience in client facing roles and relationship management
- High level of collaboration
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience working with globally distributed teams is a plus
- Strong negotiation and issue resolution skills
- Expert understanding of project & program management processes and methodologies
- Ability to interact, manage and influence key stakeholders including executive team members
- Agency or media management experience preferred
