We stay ahead of disruptions through real-time tracking, strong carrier relationships, and responsive communication, enabling proactive service and peace of mind for our clients.

Job Purpose

As an Operations Specialist, you will manage the full lifecycle of freight transactions—from prospecting and acquiring new clients to booking, tracking, and delivering loads. This cradle-to-grave role is the foundation of our brokerage operations, combining sales, account management, and carrier coordination. You’ll play a critical role in building relationships, brokering freight, and growing your personal book of business, with the opportunity to earn commission based on performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client acquisition and sales involve prospecting, cold calling, and engaging potential shippers to generate new business opportunities.
  • Book of business growth includes developing and managing a personal portfolio of customer accounts with a focus on scaling long-term relationships and repeat freight opportunities.
  • Load booking and negotiation requires sourcing and securing carriers through effective negotiation, ensuring competitive pricing while protecting margin.
  • Freight management covers overseeing every step of the shipment lifecycle, from pick-up to delivery, including tracking, updates, and issue resolution.
  • Carrier development means building and maintaining strong relationships with carriers to ensure reliable capacity across modes such as FTL, LTL, open-deck, and reefer.
  • Problem solving involves proactively addressing service issues, delays, or exceptions to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Technology and reporting include leveraging transportation management systems (TMS) and tracking platforms to manage loads, maintain accurate records, and report performance metrics.
  • Collaboration requires partnering with internal teams to align customer expectations with operational execution.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, though not required; equivalent work experience in sales, operations, or customer service is valued.
  • Experience: 0–2 years of logistics, sales, or related industry experience (internships, retail sales, or customer service transferable).
  • Skills: Strong communication and negotiation skills, resilience in a fast-paced environment, and a drive to win business.

Competencies

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to build and grow a book of business.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, competitive, and team-oriented setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing multiple shipments.
  • Persistent and motivated by commission-driven success.
  • Adaptability to changing customer needs, market conditions, and business priorities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and performance, plus attractive commission opportunities.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Ability to contribute to a company 401(k).
