Job Summary
Scout Contracting is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator / Foreman to lead a small crew and operate equipment on residential and light commercial construction projects. This is a working leadership role—operating equipment while supervising laborers and managing daily job site execution.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, dozer, etc.)
- Lead and supervise 2–4 laborers on job sites
- Perform grading, site prep, and building pad work
- Read grade stakes, laser levels, and basic plans
- Plan and execute daily work tasks
- Maintain job site safety and organization
- Communicate progress and job needs with management
Requirements
- 3 years heavy equipment operating experience
- Prior foreman or crew leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of grading, drainage, and site prep
- Ability to read basic construction plans and elevations
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions
Pay & Benefits
- $25–$32/hour depending on experience
