Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of trucks
- Load and unload portable toilets efficiently using manual lifting techniques or specialized equipment
- Transport portable sanitation units to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery and pickup according to schedule.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns; perform basic maintenance or report repairs as needed.
- Comply with hazardous materials regulations when handling sanitation chemicals or waste materials, maintaining safety standards at all times.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate routes, troubleshoot issues on the road, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on solid waste management or municipal waste services preferred.
- Driving manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and equipment such as front-end loaders or roll-off trucks for handling large sanitation units.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and proper handling procedures for sanitation chemicals and waste products.
- Prior experience operating a variety of trucks including dump trucks, flatbeds, or tractor-trailers is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and state transportation laws related to commercial driving and waste management operations.
