RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Prioritize and uphold strict safety standards

·         Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently

·         Operate a variety of heavy equipment and machinery efficiently and safely

·         Conduct thorough pre-and post-operation inspections, reporting findings in compliance with policies

·         Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed

·         Operate equipment with a high level of skill, accuracy, and efficiency

·         Adhere to all company policies and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations

·         Complete additional tasks as assigned by management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.

·         Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

·         Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and early shifts as required.

·         Ability to work in outdoor and underground environments under various weather conditions.

·         Must pass a drug screening and comply with the company’s Substance-Free Workplace Policy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·         One year experience operating wheel loaders

·         Experience with graders, excavators, and haul trucks.

·         Familiarity with quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, screens, and scales.

·         Previous experience working in a quarry environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.

· Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.

· Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.

· Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.

· Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.

· Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.

· Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

· Conditions: Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable to changing environmental factors and the demands of an active quarry operation.
