Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects, with a strong understanding of various painting techniques and surface preparation. This role requires proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and spray equipment. The Painter will play a vital role in transforming spaces through precise application of paint and finishes, ensuring high-quality results that meet project specifications.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and repairing imperfections to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply primer, paint, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, airless sprayers, or spray guns.
- Perform trim carpentry, fixture installation, stucco application, and masonry work as needed for renovation projects.
- Utilize hand tools such as scrapers, putty knives, sanders, and caulking guns to achieve smooth finishes.
- Operate power tools safely for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Assist with remodeling projects including framing, drywall installation, restoration work, and concrete finishing.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to complete projects on time and within scope.Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and color theory.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools (including airless paint sprayers), welding equipment (a plus), and fixture installation techniques.
- Experience with plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, masonry, framing carpentry, concrete finishing, remodeling, restoration work, maintenance tasks, and maintenance person services preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and ability to work on various construction sites confidently.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area and material quantities.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials and working at heights when necessary.
