Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Caregiver to provide high-quality care to residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, with experience in managing complex health needs such as dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role involves supporting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their overall well-being through personalized care plans. Certification in caregiving and relevant experience are essential to deliver compassionate, respectful, and professional support. The hours are Wed, Thursday, and Friday nights. 6p.m. to 6a.m.
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed instructions and maintain detailed documentation using EMR systems
- Support residents with dementia or memory care needs through specialized behavioral management techniques
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and provide safe transfer assistance
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
- Support residents’ social engagement by encouraging participation in activities and providing companionship
- Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, families, and other caregivers
- Drive residents when necessary for appointments or outings while adhering to safety protocols
Experience
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia management, and behavioral support strategies
- Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in long-term or residential care environments
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Prior work with individuals in group home settings is advantageous
- Valid driver’s license for transportation duties is preferred but not mandatory
