Marketing Assistant

SUMMARY:

Scott Enterprises is seeking candidates for a Marketing Assistant role with the company’s corporate marketing department. The Marketing Assistant will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad variety of marketing functions within a fast-paced and creative environment. The role will primarily include administrative tasks with occasional contributions to media & marketing projects. Scott Enterprises is a third-generation family-owned hospitality company that is a leader in the Northwest Pennsylvania region.

MARKETING ASSISTANT KEY ROLES:

• SHARE THE LOVE: You’ll act as the primary contact for our company’s donation program. You will have the opportunity to review numerous donation requests and will play a key role in awarding over $90,000 of in-kind donations annually.

• PAY THE BILLS: You’ll shop with the company credit card, review invoices, and organize and submit them for payment in a timely manner.

• WONDERFUL WITH WORDS: You’ll help team members with a variety of written content, including blog posts, press releases, TV scripts, and more. Before assisting in the production or publishing of these items, you will work with the Marketing Manager to ensure that there are no typos in printed pieces.

• WORK THE WEB: You will maximize our marketing efforts by leveraging various web-based tools and programs, including community event calendars, a project management system, digital signage, website editor, and social media tools.

• MAKE US LOOK GOOD: You’ll act as a liaison for a variety of marketing materials and promotional equipment. This includes distributing materials to travel centers, preparing equipment for trade shows, organizing our storage area, and tracking down our prized belongings when they are not returned to their rightful home.

• KEEP US #TRENDY: You may help to create content for the social media accounts of Peek’n Peak Resort, Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park Resort, Oliver’s Rooftop, Oliver’s Beer Garden, The Ambassador Banquet & Conference Center, and more. Chuckle-worthy puns and emojis are welcomed & encouraged.

• HELP US THROW A PARTY: Scott Enterprises coordinates many events each year. Occasionally, you’ll be asked to help decorate, set up, work, or participate in these events.

• LEND A HAND: Assist the Marketing Manager with general office tasks, including ordering supplies, taking notes, making phone calls, organizing materials, and delivering items to company locations, etc.

• WORKS WELL WITH OTHERS: Oversee department interns, when applicable. Be a team player.

• FIND THE TEA: Conduct research, which may include analyzing our competitors.

• WORK HARD, PLAY HARD: Join our team for monthly luncheons, happy hours, casual dress down days, costume contests, team outings and more.

• MAKE EXPERIENCES GREAT: Thousands of guests visit our businesses each day. They may be spending a family vacation at Splash Lagoon, learning to ski at Peek’n Peak, resting at our hotels, dining at our restaurants, or celebrating their wedding at The Ambassador Banquet & Conference Center. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs

• Works Well Under Pressure

• Great Attention to Detail

• Marketing Experience or An Interest In Marketing Preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Should have reliable transportation and the ability to drive between company locations to drop off marketing materials during business hours.

• Position self to maneuver or position various materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Operate a variety of standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, and copy and fax machine, requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand, and eye movement.
• Most work is performed in a normal office environment.
• Standing and walking are constant conditions.
• Constant and frequent reaching, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, etc.

Seeking 1 candidate for Part-Time Shifts Monday-Friday.
