Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate in orthopedic patient care as an active member of the clinical and surgical team; attend clinics, assist on surgical cases, and perform pediatric orthopedic surgical procedures under the direct supervision and to the satisfaction of a medical staff member, as assigned, and makes daily rounds on all inpatients
- Demonstrate basic medical knowledge of pediatric orthopedics, along with appropriate clinical skills and judgment, and surgical technique
- Participate in educational activities of Scottish Rite for Children such as case conferences, symposia, and professional educational meetings, including education of residents, paramedical, and technical personnel, as assigned
- Dictate, complete and/or sign medical records, forms, and letters related to patients treated by the Fellow in an accurate and timely manner
- Participate in mortality and morbidity conferences and performance improvement activities as assigned
- Perform On-Call duties on nights and weekends as required
- Abide by all Scottish Rite policies and procedures and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations
- Requires frequent use of various and sundry surgical/clinical equipment
- Medical school graduate who has completed a residency in orthopedic surgery
