We are seeking a dependable and motivated Part-Time Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team in a 35-bed skilled nursing facility. This position plays a vital role in providing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and restrictions. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about therapeutic diets, food safety, and large-scale meal preparation.
Schedule is 2-3 days per week (flexible scheduling)
Shift is 12:00p-8:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and standardized recipes.
· Ensure meals meet resident dietary restrictions and physician-ordered diet modifications.
· Prepare food for large groups while maintaining quality and portion control.
· Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas.
· Assure that all state and federal food safety guidelines and health regulations are followed at all times.
· Assist with meal service and tray assembly as needed.
· Assist in inventory, labeling and storing food and supplies as necessary.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
· Work cooperatively with dietary staff and nursing team.
Qualifications· Knowledge of therapeutic diets and dietary restrictions in a healthcare setting preferred.
· Ability to follow recipes and standardized production sheets.
· Understanding of sanitation practices and basic kitchen safety procedures.
· Ability to read and interpret tray tickets accurately.
· Experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred.
· ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements· Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Frequent bending, reaching, and walking.
· Ability to work in a warm kitchen environment.
