Job Summary
We are seeking a Project Manager/Estimator to oversee and manage utility construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of underground utility construction operations including: equipment used, laborer skills, safe digging operations, OSHA requirements, etc. and possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of project scheduling, safety regulations, and contract management. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Duties
-Supervise daily operations on construction sites to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
-Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
-Review schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
-Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and promote a safe working environment for all personnel.
-Closely monitor project budgets and take early action to avoid budget exceedances.
-Manage contracts effectively to ensure all terms are met and any issues are addressed promptly.
-Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
-Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work performed.
-Prepare reports on project status, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
Qualifications
-Proven experience as a Project Manager/Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
-Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
-Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and technical documents related to construction projects.
-Experience with contract management and negotiation is preferred.
-Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders while maintaining focus on project goals.
-Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to managing challenges that arise during projects.
-Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety practices in construction environments.
