Location: Scott Valley Swimming & Tennis Club (SVSTC) – Mill Valley, CA
Schedule: Part-Time, up to 30 hours per week (flexible schedule including some weekends)
Position Overview
The Aquatics Program Assistant supports the daily operations of a busy and growing aquatics program. This is a dynamic, hands-on role combining administrative support, swim instruction, and on-deck presence. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about swimming and youth development.
Key Responsibilities Administrative & Program Support Assist with scheduling swim lessons, camps, and aquatic programs Respond to emails and support communication with families and members Help manage registrations, attendance tracking, and program logistics
Support Aquatics Director with day-to-day operations and special projects Assist with camp and event coordination (including check-in, setup, and organization)
Swim Instruction Teach private and small group swim lessons for all ages and levels
Provide a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment
Support developmental and pre-team swimmers as needed
On-Deck Support Assist with swim team practices, camps, or clinics as needed Help ensure pool safety, organization, and smooth transitions between programs
Serve as a positive and professional presence for members and families
Lifeguarding (as needed) Provide lifeguard coverage when scheduled or needed Maintain safety standards and respond to emergencies appropriately
Qualifications Prior experience working with children (teaching, coaching, or camp experience preferred)
Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment Comfortable in and around the water Certifications (required or willingness to obtain)
Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED & First Aid Certification Preferred: Swim instruction and/or competitive swimming background Experience with customer service or administrative work Compensation Hourly rate based on experience Opportunities for growth within aquatics programming
