Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and feeding to promote independence and well-being
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
- Support patient mobility with equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe transfer techniques following aseptic procedures
- Administer medications under supervision and assist with medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Observe and report changes in patient condition or behavior promptly to nursing staff or physicians
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy (blood draws), and wound care in various clinical settings including ICU, emergency departments, or outpatient clinics
Requirements
- Valid CNA certification from an accredited program; current state licensure required
- Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, hospice care, or outpatient clinics
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for patient safety
- Prior experience with critical care areas such as ICU or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
- Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams and provide excellent patient service
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
