What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scott Campus Assistant Resident Manager position at Scott Residential Management?

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Assistant Resident Manager’s primary duty is to act as a link between Management and Resident Assistants of Scott Campus as well as to implement policies, procedures and regulations. In addition the Resident Manager provides support for RAs when dealing with residents as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
- Supervise the Resident Assistant staff. Including the scheduling, staff meetings, training/ orientation and any possible issues that arise.
- Handle walk-in resident/RA problems
- Maintain confidentiality, team spirit, professionalism, customer service and high quality standards at all times
- Assist in organizing and create developmental activities for the Res. Life Staff.
- Assist in preparation Annual Res. Life Report.
- Works with the Asst. Property Manager to coordinate and handle property events, problems and to make referrals to Scott Campus and management as needed in regards to discipline.
- Cover shifts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Willingness to live on campus preferred
- Must have experience with a live-in Residential Life Program.
- Familiarity with student supervision and student conduct violations.
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Excellent computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to function effectively in emergencies and crises interventions.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
- Meet with residents to discuss roommate concerns, substance abuse issues, and other personal and conduct concerns. Act as a referral agent to other University resources
- Respond to crisis situations and offer immediate support and resources to those involved as well as notifying the appropriate parties within Scott Residential Management and UNO
- Be accessible and visible in the Housing Community for student interaction at all times
- Live on Property in a provided apartment
