Supervisor: Food Service Director Location: Hastings Dining Hall
Full Time / Part Time: Full Time Campus: Hasting College
Status: Non- Exempt Department: Food Service
MISSION:
It is your personal and professional responsibility to make Scott Dining Services the premier provider of Collegiate Food Service. Through quality, professionalism, safety, consistency, and kindness. We strive to offer our residents, staff, and customers the highest level of culinary expertise and exceptional service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
- Providing excellent customer service to our residents, staff, and guests.
- Prepare and cook all Dinner items as listed on the rotation menu.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area and safety standards.
- Follow all recipes to ensure consistent quality.
- Ensure you have all ingredients and supplies to correctly follow the menu.
- Ensure all Heath codes are being used by entire kitchen staff.
- Prep/thaw all your items for the next day’s business.
- Be part in organization of all food storage.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Communication with hot line attendant on amounts of food usages.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Previous experience cooking in a kitchen.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function calmly, professionally, and efficiently in stressful situations.
- Must be able to be on your feet for the entire shift.
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
- Will need to be willing to help out in other areas of the kitchen and food court as needed.
- Assist in catering events when needed.
- Able to lead staff when management is not present.
- Recognize and fix problems before they happen and effect guest satisfaction.
- Availability for evening and weekend shifts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is conducted in-person in a typical coffee shop environment between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tasks involve continuous movement and walking within a fast-paced environment. A strong team-oriented environment that involves close collaboration with other food service personnel.
