Farm Equipment Mechanic and Service Technician

The pre-season maintenance tasks will be done to machinery during the months when farming duties have halted, and the machinery is not in use. List of equipment: (8) Tractors, (6) Semi's, (2) Combines, (1) Sprayer, (1) Grain cart, (2) Planters, (6) Tillage Implements, (5) Pickups. All the machines and equipment will go through a thorough inspection, service, and repair process. Each machine will have a manufacturer's annual maintenance procedure that needs to be followed to ensure proper operation of the equipment during the work season. This seasonal post-harvest work process will include the disassembly and reassembly of major components for the replacement of bearings, lubricants, filters, parts, worn components, surfacing, and welding of cracks. Cleaning of each machine must be done before any maintenance work. The work will include heavy lifting of machine parts and holding them in place during reassembly. The worker must be able to handle complex tasks that require logical thought, care, and paying attention to detail. Must be able to drive to town to get parts for the equipment -Employees have valid driver's licenses or must obtain one within 30 days. - Cell phone usage is limited to business-related calls only. - NO TEXTING. - No smoking in equipment, vehicles, housing, or grounds. - No drinking of alcoholic beverages during working hours and otherwise discouraged. - Must be able to read, understand, and speak English for record-keeping and safety reasons. - No Educational level is required. - Must have 3 months of tractor driving with towed implements. - Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds.
