Job Overview
The Scott Lake Maintenance Company (SLMC) is a nonprofit homeowners' association responsible for managing the community water system, community center, park, common areas, and related services.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to support our daily operations and serve our community. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a variety of administrative tasks, working with people, and being part of a community-focused organization. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to develop valuable office management skills while supporting our team’s success.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming/outgoing mail and maintain organized files
- Answer phones, greet visitors, and assist community members
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office tools
- Manage filing systems, organize documents, and ensure proper document storage
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks Online, billing, and our billing software, ElDorado, and payments, including preparing monthly statements, reports, and meeting materials.
- Support board meetings and community events (setup, notes, etc.)
- Provide excellent customer support by addressing inquiries and offering assistance as needed
- Assist with the community center and general office operations
- Handle general clerical duties such as photocopying, scanning, and mailing correspondence
- Provide support to the Executive Secretary and Board members as needed
Requirements
- At least 1 year of office or administrative experience
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, QuickBooks a plus)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid WA driver's license (preferred)
- Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and light fieldwork (meter reads, site checks, unlocking park bathrooms and gates)
- A flexible schedule may be needed for meetings and community events
