A well-established Colorado-based General Contractor is hiring a Senior Estimator to join their preconstruction team in Colorado Springs. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for an individual who takes pride in their work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and enjoys building lasting relationships across clients, design partners, and trade contractors.
The Senior Estimator will lead complex preconstruction efforts, producing accurate budgets and estimates that set the foundation for successful projects. This role also includes mentoring junior estimators, collaborating with design teams, and supporting business development efforts through client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed estimates from design through GMP and hard bids
- Guide preconstruction efforts, ensuring budgets align with scope, schedule, and client goals
- Lead OAC and design meetings, preparing and presenting organized budgets
- Build and maintain subcontractor/vendor relationships, managing bid solicitations and scope reviews
- Support business development by providing technical expertise during pursuits and client interactions
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices
Qualifications
- 7 years of estimating experience with a General Contractor, including large/complex projects ($20M–$100M )
- Proficiency with estimating tools (Sage, PlanSwift, iSqFt, Excel, Bluebeam)
- Strong knowledge of construction systems and cost drivers across commercial markets (healthcare, education, civic, nonprofit, office)
- Excellent communication and client-facing presentation skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
