General Superintendent – Mission Critical / Data Center Construction (National Travel)
Lead the construction of the world's most advanced digital infrastructure.
A nationally recognized ENR-ranked general contractor specializing in mission critical construction is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee large-scale data center projects across the United States.
This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for directing field operations, mentoring project teams, driving safety and quality initiatives, and ensuring successful delivery of complex hyperscale and enterprise data center facilities.
Current and upcoming projects are located throughout:
- Texas
- Oklahoma
- Wisconsin
- Virginia
- Iowa
- Louisiana
National travel is preferred.
Position Summary
The General Superintendent will provide overall field leadership across one or multiple mission critical projects, managing superintendents, trade partners, and field staff while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This individual will serve as a key operational leader, partnering closely with Project Executives, Project Managers, MEP teams, owners, and subcontractors throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations on large-scale mission critical and data center projects
- Manage and mentor project superintendents, assistant superintendents, and field engineers
- Develop and execute site logistics, phasing, and construction sequencing plans
- Drive project schedules and coordinate critical path activities
- Ensure strict adherence to safety programs and site-specific requirements
- Conduct regular site walks, inspections, and quality reviews
- Coordinate activities between civil, structural, architectural, and MEP trades
- Lead subcontractor coordination meetings and field planning sessions
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions
- Collaborate with project leadership on manpower planning, forecasting, and project execution strategies
- Support commissioning readiness and turnover activities
- Maintain strong relationships with owners, design teams, and trade partners
Preferred Experience
- 10 years of superintendent experience with a commercial or industrial general contractor
- Previous experience as a Senior Superintendent or General Superintendent
- Direct mission critical/data center experience highly preferred
- Experience leading large, complex projects exceeding $100M
- Strong understanding of concrete, steel, building envelope, MEP coordination, and commissioning processes
- Experience managing multiple field teams and subcontractors simultaneously
- Proven ability to lead fast-track construction schedules
