SUMMARY
This position supports and supervises the maintenance/repair needs of the hotel. Oversees and performs work involving multiple crafts, such as plumbing, painting and drywall, carpentry, electrical and water testing. Position is also responsible for performing preventive maintenance as well as assist with repairs at Splash Lagoon as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the supervising and performing the following:
1. Plumbing functions include:
- Solder/braze
- Unplug toilet and drains
- Change bath and toilet fixtures
- Fix faucets
2. Drywall and painting functions include:
- Small repairs in walls and ceilings due to water damage
- Must blend repairs with existing wall or ceiling fixtures
- Minor painting of rooms, doors, trim and ceilings
3. Carpentry functions include:
- Repair and fabricate chairs, tables, walls, floor, cabinetry, shelves etc.
- Must understand demonstrate correct use of hand and power tools
4. Electrical functions include:
- Change outlets, wall switches, light fixtures, appliances, AC/p-tacs and related items
- Must be able to trouble shoot, read schematics, and diagnose electrical equipment
- Will work with voltages from 24v to 240 volt 3 phase and the correct use of meters and testing meters
5. Water testing functions include:
- Test pools, spas and large bodies of water and document readings.
- Minor cleaning, back washing, spa and jacuzzi pump replacement, rebuilds, mechanical seals, air switches and etc.
6. Perform preventive maintenance tasks as part of a preventive maintenance program
7. Repairs and maintains commercial laundry equipment.
8. Participates on the Safety Committee.
9. Gives direction and feedback to the maintenance technician assigned to the hotel property.
10. Other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. They must be capable of independent thinking, working on assigned project lists and working with guests and management in a professional manner.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent; vocational school training preferred; minimum five years experience in electrical, plumbing and carpentry crafts. Some supervisory experience is preferred.

- Repairing and maintaining equipment — servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment found in the hotel.
