Work Location Status: Fully on-site at the Collinsville, IL Branch.
About the Role
The Collections Consultant works closely with members to resolve outstanding debts and ensure compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong communication skills, an empathetic approach to member relations, and a solid understanding of collections processing within the financial industry.

What You’ll Do
- Manage and monitor delinquent accounts to ensure timely payments and resolution of outstanding balances. This includes reviewing member accounts, assessing payment history, and determining appropriate actions for collections.
- Develop and recommend customized repayment solutions for members based on their individual financial situations, ensuring a fair and mutually beneficial resolution for both the member and the credit union.
- Maintain accurate records of all collection efforts and member communications within the credit union’s collection management system.
- Conduct skip-tracing investigations using available resources such as credit reports and member databases to locate members with whom contact has been lost.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve member issues and ensure that all accounts are handled appropriately and timely.
- Ensure that all collection activities are compliant with state and federal regulations and internal credit union policies.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One to three years’ experience working in a Collections, Call Center, or Customer Service environment.
- Personal computer experience to include Microsoft Office Products.
