Paid at 574/74 code. Pay range from $18.45/hr to $203.79/hr, depending upon qualifying verification of experience.
This is a 260 day - 8hr./day position.
Person hired will be working with the Office of Student Learning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School Graduate.
2. Good secretarial skills, including typing, filing and organizational skills.
3. Demonstrated competence in the use of business machines and computers.
4. Experience as a secretary and/or special schooling for secretarial work.
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Learning
JOB GOAL: To assume the smooth and efficient operation of the office so that the office’s maximum positive impact on the education of the children can be realized.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serve as secretary to a District-level Director or administrator of a large, complex program or function; plan, organize and coordinate activities to relieve the administrator of routine clerical details.
2. Responsible for all coordinating and planning meetings, agendas, events.
3. Enter and manage employee information in various computer and web-based applications.
4. Interview and screen callers and visitors, including students, teachers, administrators, parents, vendors and the public and provide information or direct to appropriate personnel; provide detailed and technical information concerning District policies, procedures and established regulations.
5. Perform a variety of general secretarial duties including sorting and routing mail, receiving and referring telephone calls, operating computers and other business machines.
6. Assist in preparing and generating a variety of Office of Student Learning mailings, reports, and lists.
7. Assure timely communications between office and District employees; make phone calls to receive and transmit information; type memos, bulletins, letters and notices; prepare Board agenda items and related materials as assigned; compose correspondence or prepare from rough draft
10. Research and compile information and compute statistical data for federal, State and District reports and special projects as assigned.
11. Maintain the payroll authorization process.
12. Review or prepare a variety of materials and documents, including financial documents, invoices, inventory records and statistics; order supplies and materials and prepare purchase orders; assure adequate forms and supplies to support office operations.
13. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Learning.
