Scott County Hospital, located in Scott City, KS, is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse, for our hospital facility. We are a family-orientated team who are committed to providing the level of care that truly makes a positive difference. Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and reviews patient history and physical well-being. Review available information obtained by other healthcare team members. Reviews diagnostics and laboratory data and reports abnormal results to providers. 
  • Formulates a plan of care, including the discharge plan, utilizing assessment data and patient, family, and healthcare team input. Goals for the patient are realistic, measurable, and developed in conjunction with the patient/family. 
  • Implements a plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the activities of the healthcare team. Provides care based on provider orders and the nursing plan of care, standards of care, and regulatory agency requirements. Delegates appropriately and provides nursing supervision in the provision of care to patients by other licensed nurses and other personnel. 
  • Evaluate the patient’s and family’s response to care and revise the plan of care as needed. 
  • Documents assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record. Documentation is legible, timely, and in accordance with policy. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patients response to treatment. Implements provider orders accurately and promptly.
  • Contributes to nursing professionalism by providing care based on the best evidence available. Interacts and participates in the education, role development, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, students, families and visitors. Promotes/supports growth of others through precepting and mentoring when appropriate. Participates in clinical practice committees such as peer review, development of system within hospital and department, risk management, etc. Attends departmental meeting. Maintain membership in nursing professional organization(s).




Requirements

Education/Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice required. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modify standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases.


Licenses and Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required or must complete BLS certification within one month of employment. ACLS and PALS certification is required and must be completed within 6 months of employment. TNCC and NRP certification is preferred.


Schedule Availability: Ability to work weekends and holidays.
