Individual needed for an entry-level position to provide support in the County Clerk’s Office. The duties include, but are not limited to: receiving customers at the counter and responding to telephone and email inquiries; explaining procedures, providing standardized forms, notarization and taking requests for record searches and other information; registering and transferring vehicles; issuing auto licenses, including collecting assessed fees, taxes, calculating penalties and issuing receipts; maintaining inventory of plates, decals and forms; and operating a variety of office machines, including computer, adding machine, and printer/copier/fax.
Position requires graduation from high school or possession of a GED, some related experience, with preference being given to applications with previous clerical or administrative assistant experience. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of computers and software, adding machine skills, and customer service experience. Preference will be given to candidates with six months or more experience in a clerical or administrative assistant type position which included handling money, previous experience performing 10 key punch for rapid calculations, and prior work-related experience entering data into database software. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
The work schedule is Monday to Friday 8:20 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

The starting pay for the position is $20.86 per hour, and a higher starting wage is possible for applicants who possess a related degree and/or five or more years of related experience. The anticipated start date will be on or after July 6.
