Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Certified Medical Assistant role based in Decatur, AL. The Certified Medical Assistant will support daily clinical operations, including preparing exam rooms, taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and assisting with examinations and minor procedures. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, updating and maintaining medical records, handling basic laboratory tasks as permitted, and ensuring equipment and supplies are stocked and sanitized. The role will also involve communicating test results and instructions as directed, scheduling follow-up appointments, coordinating with the front office as needed, and supporting a safe, respectful environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Medical Assisting skills, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with procedures.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately document and communicate clinical information.
- Candidates should possess experience in a Medical Office environment, including coordination with front desk and clinical staff.
- Candidates should possess Patient Care skills focused on empathy, professionalism, and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Candidates should possess competency in handling and maintaining Medical Records in compliance with privacy and regulatory standards.
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) from an accredited program.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems are beneficial.
