Maintenance Manager Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold a work environment with safety as a top priority.
- Enforce all health and safety rules and regulations according to state/federal laws and company protocol.
- Oversee, manage, document, and direct all maintenance procedures and operations.
- Manage capital projects and equipment obsolescence.
- Ensure all facility regulatory standards and inspections are regularly up-to-date.
- Assess current maintenance work processes to optimize efficiency and reliability and implement improvement plans.
- Use data analysis to help prepare for and prevent future breakdowns.
- Ensure all machinery is up to working standards by creating and implementing measures to minimize breakdowns and repairs (performing quality checks of all machinery, tools, equipment etc.).
- Troubleshoot problem areas and create a clear plan of action for equipment breakdown recovery.
- Oversee repairs and spare part stockroom.
- Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures.
- Perform evaluations of employees and work performed to ensure quality of work.
- Record and track daily progress/error reports.
- Maintain vendor relationships and requisition new materials as needed.
- Coordinate work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Create and adhere to maintenance budgets.
Maintenance Manager Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 5 years relevant experience in maintenance and project management.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication equipment preferred.
- Extensive knowledge in a variety of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Previous managerial experience highly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple vendors and employees.
- Ability to communicate findings and resolutions clearly and effectively to management and employees.
- Ability to effectively and efficiently own both administrative and engineering responsibilities.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Suite) and analytical skills to support understanding of data analysis software.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must have own transportation or ability to reliability get to work.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
