Mission
Responsible for managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within a warehouse or production environment, ensuring efficient operations and accurate inventory management.
Principle Activities
- Supervise all aspects of sheet metal to include raw material, punched parts, and formed parts.
- Assist the Fabrication Material Handling Team to visualize their workflow, excel in their processes, and assist the lines in achieving 100% schedule attainment.
- Develop processes that create workflow transparency and ensure fabricated parts move smoothly through the associated phases.
- Conduct routine meetings to discuss continuous improvements based upon identified bottlenecks within processes.
- Improve sheet metal inventory accuracy by performing weekly physical counts of sheet metal parts, comparing results to QAD, and reconciling discrepancies.
- Manager defective sheet metal parts entering scrap data into QAD and managing the disposition of fabricated parts that have been flagged as damaged, defective, non-conforming, or at the end of their life cycle.
- Manage WIP quantities based upon assembly line rates and container sizes.
- Create Kanban board to monitor workflow through operations, record known delays, and proactively identify bottlenecks.
- Report all fabricated parts on non-FMS punching equipment (EMKs and Vipros)
- Utilize current QAD transactions to sequence part production within each operation.
- May be reassigned to other shifts on occasion for a limited period based on operational needs.
- Overtime may be required as business needs dictate, sometimes with limited advance notice.

Qualifications
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Strong communication, facilitation skills, and the ability to foster team collaboration
- Blueprint Reading
- Ability to use calipers, protractors, and tape measures
- Good Verbal / Written / Listening / and Communication Skills
- Ability to demonstrate basic computer use and knowledge including basic Excel
- Ability to demonstrate Teamwork and Collaboration.
- QAD or ERP Software
- Basic Lean Manufacturing
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- 10th grade education or higher
- Ability to work in QAD or ERP inventory management systems / software.
- Basic Lean Manufacturing
- Must be able to be on your feet and walk throughout the plant for the entire shift (minus standard break periods)
