Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a General Manager, a typical day might include the following:
- Directs all front of house operations
- Delivers revenues and profits by reviewing expenditures and providing appealing restaurant service; managing staff
- Maintains patron satisfaction and builds relationships with preferred patrons
- Accomplishes restaurant human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orientating, training, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining management and hourly staff; Cleary communicates job expectations; enforces policies and procedures
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complies with health and legal regulations
- Delegates authority, assigns responsibilities and effectively manages subordinates. Takes responsibility for their growth and career path
- Establishes standards for personnel administration and performance, exceptional service to patrons, food selection and service
- Partners with Executive Chef and head chef to ensure corporation and effective communication between FOH and BOH
- Allocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists in planning budgets for departments
- Negotiates contracts with vendors
- Answers patrons' complaints and resolves problems
- Maintain all necessary license and permits
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage 4-5 subordinate managers who in turn supervise a total of approximately 60-70 employees
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Other supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Skills/Qualifications

- Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a high-volume, upscale food and beverage and/or club environment required
- High School Diploma required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
