Investment & Financial Planning Specialist

Scopo Capital Planning

Pennington, NJ

Full-Time

$72,000–$85,000 base salary performance bonus and profit sharing

About the Role

Scopo Capital Planning is a boutique financial planning and wealth management firm based in Pennington, New Jersey. We work closely with individuals, families, physicians, business owners, and retirees to provide thoughtful financial planning, investment management, and ongoing advice.

We are looking for an experienced Investment & Financial Planning Specialist to work directly with the firm's lead advisor and play an important role in the day-to-day execution of financial planning, investment management, and client service.

This position is ideal for someone with several years of experience in wealth management who enjoys the technical and client-service side of the business and wants meaningful responsibility within a growing independent firm.

This is not a commission-based sales position. There is no requirement to bring an existing book of business, cold call, or meet an individual production quota.

What You'll Do

·       Support the lead advisor with financial planning, investment management, estate planning, retirement

plans and client service

·       Prepare and update financial plans, projections, and client planning materials

·       Assist with portfolio analysis, investment research, rebalancing, and implementation

·       Coordinate rollovers, account transfers, contributions, distributions, and other money movement

·       Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for routine client questions and account-related requests

·       Speak directly with clients regarding items such as rollovers, transfers, paperwork, distributions, and

account servicing

·       Work with custodians and other outside professionals to resolve client account issues

·       Prepare materials and follow-up items before and after client meetings

·       Maintain accurate client records and ensure outstanding tasks are completed promptly

·       Help improve internal workflows and client-service processes as the firm grows

What This Role Is — and Isn't

This role is designed to support the firm's lead advisor

You will not be expected to independently manage a book of clients or lead complex planning meetings. Instead, you will be expected to have the knowledge and judgment to confidently handle routine client questions and service needs while recognizing when an issue should be escalated to the lead advisor.

For example, you should be comfortable helping a client understand and complete a rollover or account transfer, coordinating money movement, answering general account questions, and following through on outstanding planning items.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate has already developed a strong foundation in wealth management and can take ownership of their responsibilities with limited day-to-day supervision.

We are looking for someone with:

·       3–5 years of experience in financial planning, wealth management, an RIA, or a similar advisory

environment

·       Strong understanding of investment accounts, retirement plans, rollovers, distributions, and account

servicing

·       Experience preparing or supporting comprehensive financial plans

·       Familiarity with investment management and portfolio concepts

·       Strong client communication skills

·       Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

·       Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

·       Good professional judgment and discretion

·       The ability to distinguish between a routine client-service matter and an issue requiring advisor

involvement

·       A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of tasks from start to finish

·       Comfort working in a small, entrepreneurial firm where responsibilities may evolve as the business

grows

Others Describe You As:

Others would describe you as dependable, a team player, loyal, smart and takes ownership of your work. You'll thrive in this role if you're known for your meticulous attention to detail, unwavering work ethic, and ability to lead. Embrace the opportunity to build lasting client relationships, tackle complex financial inquiries, and orchestrate seamless scheduling for crucial appointments.

Licensing & Education

·       Series 65 or Series 66 required

·       Bachelor's degree preferred

·       Life & Health license preferred

·       CFP® designation or progress toward CFP® certification is a plus

·       Prior securities licensing and wealth-management experience strongly preferred

Compensation & Growth

We offer:

·       $72,000–$85,000 base salary, depending on experience

·       Performance-based bonus opportunity

·       Profit-sharing opportunity

·       Paid time off

·       Professional development and continuing education support

·       Opportunity for increasing responsibility and compensation as the firm grows

Exceptional candidates with strong financial planning experience, advanced credentials, or significant investment knowledge may be considered above the stated salary range.

Who May Be a Great Fit

You may be especially well suited for this role if you currently work as a:

·       Financial Planning Associate

·       Senior Client Service Associate

·       Registered Client Associate

·       Wealth Planning Associate

·       Paraplanner

·       Associate Advisor

·       Investment or Planning Specialist

·       A financial advisor with a few years of experience looking to transition from a commission-based or

production-focused role into a salaried planning and investment position

…and are looking for a role where you can use your experience, work closely with the owner of a growing independent firm, and take on meaningful responsibility without being expected to build your own book of business.

Interested candidates should submit a resume and a brief introduction describing their experience in financial planning, investments, and wealth management.
