What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Mill Operator - 1st Shift position at Scope Technical?
Job Summary
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Mill Operator to join a 1st shift production team. You’ll set up, operate, and maintain CNC milling machines to produce precision metal components for our equipment line. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with their hands, knows their way around a machine shop, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
What You’ll Do
- Set up and run CNC mills (HAAS, Mazak, or similar).
- Read blueprints and job travelers to make sure parts meet specs.
- Load materials, install tooling, and make offset adjustments as needed.
- Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools.
- Keep your work area clean, organized, and running smoothly.
- Work with your supervisor and teammates to hit daily production goals.
- Perform basic machine maintenance and let the team know when something needs repair.
What We’re Looking For
- 2 years of experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Comfortable reading blueprints and working to tight tolerances.
- Able to use precision measuring tools with confidence.
- Dependable, punctual, and willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality parts.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training a plus.
