Job Title: Supply Planner

Reports To: Supply Chain Director

Department: Supply Chain

Location: Headquarters in Chattanooga, TN (Hybrid: 4 days on-site, 1 day remote)

Compensation: $63,000 – $88,000 Base Salary Benefits (Relocation assistance provided)

Company Overview

We are a fast-growing, purpose-driven consumer healthcare and consumer packaged goods (CPG) company dedicated to improving lives through trusted everyday health and wellness brands. Our diverse portfolio spans over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare products, nutritional supplements, and medical devices sold across major retail channels and e-commerce platforms.

Operating through a lean, asset-light model without internal manufacturing facilities, we partner with a network of over 30 contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to deliver high-quality products. We move fast, invest behind what works, and foster an ambitious, collaborative culture where supply chain professionals receive direct mentorship and meaningful ownership over their brand portfolios.

Position Overview

The Supply Planner will assist in driving supply chain continuity, inventory optimization, and vendor performance for assigned brands and product lines. Working out of our corporate office in downtown Chattanooga, TN, this role manages rolling 12 month demand and production forecasts, coordinates purchase order delivery with contract manufacturers, supports new product/promotional launches, and maintains high customer service/case-fill levels while minimizing inventory obsolescence.

This position offers broad operational exposure across forecasting, procurement, manufacturing release, quality coordination, and logistics, supported by an established S&OP cadence and experienced supply chain leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Forecast Development & Supply Planning

  • Develop and maintain rolling 12 month production plans and finished goods purchase orders to Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) within established lead times.
  • Align supply plans with seasonal demand patterns, promotional activities, and safety stock requirements to ensure target case-fill rates.

CMO Oversight & Vendor Management

  • Act as the primary operational point of contact for assigned contract manufacturers, holding regular business reviews and performance tracking meetings.
  • Manage open purchase orders, proactively address production delays or material bottlenecks, and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate product release documentation with CMO partners and internal Quality teams to facilitate final product release.
  • Reconcile shipment invoices against actual received quantities and approve vendor invoices for payment.
  • Assist in evaluating and onboarding backup CMOs or alternate component suppliers for strategic continuity and continuous improvement projects.

Inventory Optimization & Governance

  • Monitor inventory positions across external warehouses to optimize inventory turns while maintaining top-tier customer fill rates.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory records between ERP systems and planning tracking tools.
  • Generate weekly watch lists, open order reports, and short-dated inventory/obsolescence tracking reports to prevent excess write-offs.

Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Project-manage promotional initiatives, line extensions, and artwork/label updates for assigned brands.
  • Establish project timelines, coordinate cross-functional reviews (Marketing, Quality, Legal, Operations, and CMOs), and drive initiatives to on-time execution.
  • Approve packaging graphics, shipping case specifications, and label artwork as needed.
  • Support annual budgeting processes for inventory levels, component purchases, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), and inbound freight.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Experience & Credentials

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or Marketing.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in supply planning, demand planning, or supply chain coordination (1–3 years with direct CPG/OTC exposure considered).
  • Work Arrangement: Willingness to work on-site 4 days per week in our downtown Chattanooga, TN headquarters, with 1 day working remotely.
  • Travel: Up to 10% travel (1–2 visits per month) for CMO site visits and supplier relationship building.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Over-the-Counter (OTC) drugs, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), nutritional supplements, cosmetics, or medical devices.
  • Hands-on experience managing external Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and third-party vendors.
  • Familiarity with major retail requirements and supply chain dynamics (e.g., Walmart, Target, Amazon, CVS, Walgreens).
  • Professional certifications such as APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or Six Sigma Green Belt.

Key Competencies

  • Data & Excel Proficiency: Advanced analytical skills using MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, formulas) and ERP inventory/planning modules.
  • Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Proven ability to translate quantitative data into actionable supply chain solutions and resolve vendor delays.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills to align cross-functional partners and external suppliers toward shared deadlines.
  • Ownership & Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, execute established planning rhythms, and maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
