Position Summary
Scope IT Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Government Sales Representative to drive business growth across state, county, and municipal government agencies in Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record selling technology solutions to government entities and developing relationships with key decision-makers, including city managers, county managers, department directors, mayors, and procurement officials.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a consultative sales environment and enjoys building long-term relationships with public sector leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities within Georgia state and local government agencies.
- Conduct proactive outreach through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and in-person meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with government decision-makers, including Mayors, City Managers, County Managers, Department Directors, Procurement Officials, IT Leaders
- Present and demonstrate Scope IT's technology solutions to prospective clients.
- Attend government conferences, industry events, and local government association meetings.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and accurately track opportunities in CRM.
- Collaborate with company leadership and technical teams to develop winning proposals and solutions.
- Meet weekly in-person with company leadership in Atlanta, GA to review pipeline and growth strategies.
- Achieve and exceed established sales and revenue targets.
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of business development or sales experience.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to independently prospect and generate new opportunities.
- Experience with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management.
- Willingness to travel throughout Georgia as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling IT, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, permitting, grants management, case management, or digital transformation solutions to government agencies.
- Existing relationships within Georgia state, county, or municipal government organizations.
- Knowledge of government procurement processes and contracting vehicles.
- Experience responding to RFPs, RFIs, and government solicitations.
